Corrupt Data can be caused by many things and is almost NEVER the results of Medisoft or Advantage Database program bugs. Some of the most common causes of data corruption are:

1. Power failures while data is in use on the computer or network.
2. Operating system failure due to OTHER program corruption.
3. Hardware failures such as printer, disk drive or network components.

Some indications of data corruption are fields such as the chart number or transaction ledger being filled with 'garble' rather than correct data. Many times, this problem can be successfully repaired eliminating the need to restore from an old backup and losing many weeks or months of data entry!
